A Manchester man, who received a deferred prison sentence for sexual abuse, is back in court after violating terms of his probation.

In April of 2010, 24 year old Jeffery Coonrad, formerly of Lamont, had gotten a deferred sentence with five years of probation on a charge of sexual abuse in the third degree in Buchanan County District Court.

However, the Iowa Department of Correctional services has filed reports that allege Coonrad violated the terms of his probation supervision in October of last year, and February 25th of this year.

On Tuesday (March 10), Coonrad admitted to violating the terms, and his deferred judgement was revoked by the court.

In addition to revoking the deferred judgement, Coonrad was sentenced to up to ten years in prison and fined $1,000. The sentence and fine was suspended and Coonrad was put on probation for 2-5 years. If necessary, Coonrad may be put in a residential treatment facility.

Coonrad must register as a sex offender, pay penalties, and a no-contact order was issued for five years. He will be on parole for the rest of his life.
