A rural Tripoli man has been arrested for leading authorities on a high-speed chase on a stolen motorcycle.

It started just before 11am Friday, when a Bremer County deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle for driving 85 miles an hour in a 55 zone on Highway 3, east of Readlyn. The motorcyclist refused to pull over, and sped up to over 130 miles an hour.

The chase wend north on V-56, then west on C-33. Tripoli Police then joined the pursuit. The chase ended when the motorcycle ran into a Tripoli police squad car, southeast of Tripoli.

The driver, identified as 20 year old Alexander Buss, was taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Buss is being charged with eluding police, no insurance, driving while suspended, speeding, and driving on the wrong side of the road.

An investigation revealed that the motorcycle Buss was driving was reported stolen in Cedar Falls, in July of 2013. Buss is also being charged with theft 2nd degree for possession of stolen property.
