Cedar Valley Man Hurt in Accident

A Cedar Falls motorist is recovering from injuries he sustained in a two-car accident in Delaware County.

It happened at about 2pm Wednesday, at the intersection of Highway 20 and County Road X-47, east of Earlville.

A westbound car driven by 26 year old Anne Pentland of Iowa City, attempted to turn left onto the county road, but failed to yield to an eastbound car driven by 47 year old Michael Hanson of Cedar Falls.

The cars collided, sending Hanson's car into the ditch, and Pentland's vehicle into the median.

Hanson was taken to the Dyersville hospital for treatment, while Pentland was transported to Mercy in Dubuque. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
