Cedar Falls Police Arrest Waterloo Man for Burglary and Criminal Mischief from an incident that occurred in October.

On October 31 of this year, Cedar Falls Police were dispatched to Midas Muffler on University Avenue on the report of a burglary. Nothing was found missing from the scene, but there was damage done to the reception area of the business. Evidence collected at the scene that lead to Thomas Allen Young, an ex-employee at Midas, being developed as a suspect in the incident. A search warrant was executed at Young’s residence, 1241 Ingersoll Road, Waterloo. Evidence recovered during the search warrant, a witness statement, and evidence collected the night of the burglary shows that Young was at the Midas shop at the time of the burglary.

Today (12/8/16), Young, 30, turned himself in at the Black Hawk County Jail. He has been charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony for the damage that was done at the business. Young has been booked in on the charges.
