Buses with Detasselers Collide, Some Hurt
An accident near Hudson Saturday involved two buses carrying corn detasseling workers.
It happened on a rural gravel route near Holmes Road and Griffith Road, just outside of Hudson.
There were a total of 4 school buses, with about 40 people in each vehicle.
The last of the 4 buses rear-ended the third bus when it slowed for an intersection. Visibility was apparently impaired by dust.
Several occupants were injured and taken to a local hospital, with minor injuries.
The bus driver, whose name was not available, was charged with following too close.
The accident was investigated by the Black Hawk County Sheriff.
