Black Hawk County Deputies arrested a burglary suspect as he was fleeing the scene earlier today (Thursday, December 17th).

Around 2:00 A.M. this morning, Black Hawk County Sheriff's Deputies received a call about a burglary in progress at a residence north of Dunkerton. Prior to arriving at the scene, deputies were informed that the subject was trying to flee in a vehicle at a high rate of speed.  Deputies stopped the vehicle as it was leaving the area.

Deputies arrested Chad James Clark, 43 of Howard Ave. in Waterloo. Clark was found in possession of items stolen from the private residence. Clark was also armed with a knife over 5 inches long.

Clark is currently residing in the Black Hawk County Jail and is charded with Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglary Tools, Carrying Weapons and Possession of Methamphetamine.
