Residents in one northeast Iowa town are being asked to boil their drinking water after a main pipe broke in town.

The water main break took place Monday (Dec. 12) in Plainfield, on Division Street. Water service was in the process of being restored.

However, after the service is restored, customers should boil their water, used for drinking and cooking, until further notice.

That advisory would likely be in effect for a minimum of 48 hours.

Anyone with questions is asked to contact the Plainfield Maintenance Supervisor, at 319-404-7033.
