The body of a man who walked away from a Waterloo hospital in frigid weather last month has been found in a local backyard.

Police have been searching for Prince Joshua Flomo, 25, since Feb. 22, 2015. That's the day Covenant Medical Center officials reported that he wandered out of the hospital while being treated for an altered mental status.

According to police, Flomo left the hospital in sub-zero temperatures wearing only a hospital gown and no shoes. He's been listed as a missing person since then.

Flomo's body was found today in the backyard of home a short distance from Covenant. Police said a resident at 521 Wildwood Road discovered his body in a small space between two sheds shortly before noon. The victim was wearing only hospital clothing and was covered with a hospital robe.

The Black Hawk County Medical Examiner was called to the scene and ruled that Flomo died of exposure due to the cold temperatures.
