Brock Boeser is on a personal seven-game winning streak, and his contributions to a pair of Waterloo Black Hawks victories over the weekend led the United States Hockey League to name him the CCM Forward of the Week on Monday.

When the Waterloo Black Hawks visited the Des Moines Buccaneers Saturday, the Burnsville, Minnesota-product scored twice and assisted on another goal by Tyler Sheehy; Waterloo prevailed, 5-4. The next day at home against the Fargo Force, Boeser notched two more goals, helping the Hawks to a 5-1 decision.

The weekend appearances were the first for Boeser since competing at the World Junior A Challenge in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. Along with Sheehy, Tom Novak, and Hayden Shaw, Boeser and the U.S. Junior Select Team won all four games during that event, claiming the gold medal. In their last USHL game before departing for the tournament – December 5th at Fargo – the Hawks also prevailed, giving the quartet seven consecutive victories.

The 17-year-old leads Waterloo with 16 goals and 31 points in 23 2014/15 games. Those totals tie for second and fourth respectively in the USHL. With nine power play goals – all of Boeser’s tallies over the weekend came in power play situations – he leads the USHL in that category.

Monday’s recognition from the league marks the second time Boeser has been named the CCM Forward of the Week this season. He also won the honor on November 3rd. As a team, the Black Hawks have now claimed three Player of the Week awards this season.

NEXT UP: Waterloo Black Haws will host the Lincoln Stars on New Year's Eve inside Young Arena.  The puck drops at 7:05 PM.
