Black Hawk Co. Rollover Injures Jesup Woman

The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a rollover accident that put a Jesup woman in the hospital.

It happened shortly after 12 noon Friday, southwest of Jesup, near the intersection of Jesup Road and Indian Creek Road.

58 year old Helene Reyes was driving south, when she attempted to pass a stopped mail-carrier vehicle. Another no-contact vehicle approached from the north, prompting Reyes to over-correct when she got back into her lane. The car then went out of control, entered a ditch and rolled onto it's top.

Reyes had to be extricated from the car by the Jesup Fire Department; she was taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
