It was when Fayette County deputies were called out late Sunday night (Aug. 7), that they were led to the investigation of another case.

Officers were initially dispatched to 220th Street, west of West Union, when they responded to a residence south of West Union. When deputies arrived, they found several persons under the age of 21, who were in possession of alcohol.

As a result, 18 year olds Aaron Swearingen of Westgate, Kieran Harrington of West Union, Jessica Boess of Hawkeye, and McKenzie Kauffman, were cited for underage alcohol possession.

The Fayette County sheriff received a report Sunday morning, of a vehicle on it's top, west of West Union on 220th Street.

45 year old Brett Hanson of Waucoma, was driving west when his car left the road, entered a ditch and rolled onto it's top.

Hanson was not hurt, but the 1999 Oldsmobile 88 was totaled. The accident is still under investigation.

And authorities responded to a two-vehicle accident Friday morning, at the intersection of Highway 150 and 240th Street, north of West Union.

A car driven by a 15 year old motorist, had stopped, but then pulled into the intersection, where it was struck by a dump truck driven by 41 year old Morrie Monroe of Fort Atkinson.

No one was injured, but there was $2,000 damage to the car, and minor damage to the dump truck. The young driver was charged with failure to yield when entering a highway.
