Assault Arrest at Upper Iowa University

A young Northeast Iowa woman has been arrested early today (Thursday) at Upper Iowa University, on an assault charge.

Shortly after midnight (12:07am Thursday), the Fayette County Sheriff's office got a report of an assault that happened at UIU in the city of Fayette.

An investigating deputy took 18 year old Courtney Wayne of Fayette, into custody on a charge of domestic abuse assault, which is a simple misdemeanor.

Wayne was held in the Fayette County Jail in West Union until her initial court appearance.
