A Janesville woman is in the hospital, after crashing her vehicle into a train in rural Bremer County.

The accident happened northwest of Janesville around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 12, 2016).

Kimberly Bradfield, 41, was driving a sport utility vehicle eastbound on 260th Street, when she struck a northbound Canadian National Railway train, sheriff's officials said.

Bradfield was taken to Unity Point-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident was investigated by Bremer County Sheriff's officials, with assistance from the Iowa State Patrol, Janesville Fire Department, and Janesville First Responders.
