A Waverly-Shell Rock school employee, set to retire as of today, will instead be remembered by friends and family after passing away from injuries in a bicycle accident.

Pamela Druvenga, 60, was injured on June 5, when the tire of her bicycle hit the tire of another bike, flipping her over on the Waverly Rail Trail. After the accident, Druvenga was transferred to University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City with critical injuries. She died there on Wednesday (June 20, 2018).

Druvenga had worked for the Waverly-Shell Rock School District for 24 years.

Celebration of Life services for Druvenga are set for 1 PM Saturday at Trinity United Methodist church in Waverly. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 to 7 PM on Friday.
