Authorities have filed attempted murder charges against a Northeast Iowa man, following the investigation into a case that is 3 years old.
34 year old Anthony Runde of Dubuque was arrested Tuesday (Sept. 14) on charges of Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide, and Aggravated Battery with Intent to Cause Great Bodily Harm.

The incident happened in July of 2013, when 30 year old Joshua Milligan of Dubuque was assaulted while he was attending the "Rock on the River" concert in the township of Bridgeport, south of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

Milligan was found at a campground, unconscious with head injuries. An investigation determined that Milligan and Runde, who were acquaintances, were both at the concert; they reportedly had a grudge against each other, stemming from an incident in Dubuque.

The two met at the campground, where Runde struck Milligan in the head, causing severe brain trauma.

On Friday, Sept. 9, a Grand Jury in Crawford County, Wisconsin issued an indictment for Runde, and a warrant was issued of his arrest.

Runde remains in the Dubuque County jail awaiting extradition to Wisconsin.
