A Northeast Iowa man faces several charges after allegedly assaulting a law enforcement officer.


The incident happened Monday afternoon (July 24), when Winneshiek County deputies were called to a trespassing incident at a residence along Highway 9 near Ridgeway.

Officers located 45 year old Jeremy Meyer of Spillville at the residence. Meyer started making several threats to several people, and resisting arrest. While at the Winneshiek County jail in Decorah, Meyer is accused of assaulting 2 deputies. One of the officers sustained undisclosed injuries.

Meyer was taken into custody on charges of Felony assault on a peace officer, assault on a peace officer, interference with official acts, 4 counts of first degree aggravated harassment and trespassing. He was held on $14,000 bond.
