An Oelwein man has been arrested on a stalking charge.

At about 9am Friday (Aug. 26) the Oelwein Police Department was called out on the report of an altercation in the 600 block of 10th Street SW.
Investigating officers arrested 28 year old Troy Miller on a charge of stalking, which is an Aggravated Misdemeanor. He was also booked on charges of Violating a Domestic Abuse No-Contact order, and Obstructing an Emergency Call, from earlier incidents.

Oelwein police have arrested 2 local men on assault-based charges.

At about 1:30am Saturday (Aug. 27), 37 year old Sam Cook of Oelwein was taken into custody in the 200 block of 5th Street NW. He was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault, causing bodily injury, for an incident that happened in the ten block of 12th Avenue SE.

And at about 9:30pm Saturday, 54 year old David Perry of Oelwein was arrested for Serious Assault, after an incident in the 100 block of 1st Avenue SE.

Oelwein Police also responded to a traffic accident just before 9am Saturday, in the ten block of 1st Avenue SE. An SUV driven by Dean Ross, collided with a car driven by Howard Mace. No injuries were reported.
