Area Driver Arrested After SUV Goes into Ditch

A West Union woman has been arrested after she put her vehicle in a ditch.

At about 10pm Wednesday (Jan. 27), the Fayette County Sheriff was alerted of a vehicle in the ditch in the 6,000 block of Echo Valley Road, 6 miles east of West Union. Officers found the vehicle on it's side, and the driver temporarily trapped.

Authorities determined that the driver, 48 year old Angela Hendrickson, was driving east, when she lost control on the ice and snow covered roadway. The SUV ended up on it's side in the ditch; no one was injured, and damages to the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse were estimated at $1500.

Hendrickson was then arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense. She was taken to the Fayette County jail until her initial court appearance.
