Accidents at Roundabout, and Entrance to Park

A motorist from Fayette is being charged with causing a one-vehicle rollover accident.

It happened shortly after 6am Sunday (Sept. 11) on Echo Valley Road, east of West Union.

A car driven by Matthew Point of Fayette went out of control, entered a ditch, and overturned on it's top at the entrance to Echo Valley Park. Point was not hurt, but the vehicle was totaled. He was charged with failure to maintain control.

The Fayette County Sheriff continues to investigate a one-vehicle accident that happened Thursday (Sept. 8) at the intersection of Highways 3 and 187, south of Arlington.

A westbound van driven by 90 year old Gerald Luckeroth of Oelwein, went straight through the roundabout intersection, and struck two traffic signs. No one was injured.

There was $1,500 in damage to the van. The sheriff was assisted by the Strawberry Point Police, Fire, and EMS Departments.

A Waterloo teen has been arrested on an outstanding Fayette County arrest warrant. 18 year old Abby Green was taken into custody on August 31st, on a warrant for Theft in the 5th Degree.

The Black Hawk County Sheriff assisted Fayette County authorities with the arrest.
