Accident Involving Car and Tractor in NE Iowa…

During this busy planting season, there are many tractors and other farm-related vehicles sharing the road with motorists, and there is an increased chance for an accident.

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating such a car vs tractor accident. It happened shortly after 8am Thursday, at the intersection of Lincoln and King Roads, in northern Fayette County.

A southbound car driven by 67 year old Karen Barnhard of Decorah, attempted to pass a tractor pulling a field cultivator, operated by 35 year old Jason Hageman of Ft. Atkinson.

Barnhard failed to notice that the tractor was making a left turn, when she collided with the unit.

No one was injured, but the car was totaled and the field cultivator had $5,000 in damage.
Charges are pending.
