In the 99 counties of Iowa there are 947 incorporated cities. Iowa comes in 15% below the national average of crime rate because there are fewer than four crimes reported for ever 1,000 people.

Topping the list is a town on the west side of the state, Sioux Center with less than two criminal incidents of any type for every 1,000 residents.
