Simmons Promotions INC (SPI) released their 2014 dirt track racing racing schedule. This year the Farley Speedway, the West Liberty Raceway, and the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway are gearing up for 65 events.

“Our schedule is packed with many of our fans favorite events and will include a few new events,” Keith Simmons owner-operator of Simmons Promotions INC said. “Plus a few changes have been made to spice up some of our well established events.”

The biggest racing event in Eastern Iowa every year is the running of the “Yankee Dirt Track Classic”. The event will get underway on Wednesday, September 10, and it will run through Sunday, September 14th. The Saturday night show will be the big night, with main events being contested in all classes.

2014 will mark the 14th year that Simmons will promote racing at his three popular tracks in Eastern Iowa. The Farley Speedway is one of only four Iowa dirt tracks that are privately owned. SPI holds the contracts to conduct racing events at the Muscatine County Farigrounds (West Liberty Raceway) and the Dubuque County Fairgrounds.

Several late model special events dot the 2014 schedule. Two feature a $10,000 payday. On June 17, the “UMP Summer Nationals” tour, featuring the traveling stars of “The Hell Tour,” will tackle the high banked half-mile Farley Speedway. In September, the 37th annual “Yankee Dirt Track Classic” will once again feature the IMCA Deery Brothers “Summer” Series racing a 100-lap main event on the final night.

The IMCA Summer Series will make seven other stops at SPI's three tracks. The Tri-Track Late Model Challenge, sponsored by Ideal Ready Mix, will hit each track twice in 2014.

Open wheel modifieds will also see some solid paydays this season. The 2nd annual “Aftermarket Nationals” will feature the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Northern Sport Mods. The two-day event is set for Wednesday, July 2 and Thursday, July 3, and again the IMCA Modifieds will battle for $10,000. The Hawkeye Dirt Tour for IMCA Modifieds will race on Saturday night of the Yankee Dirt Track Classic.

The Farley Speedway will wave its first green flag on Friday, April 18, by hosting the IMCA Summer Series featuring IMCA Late Models. IMCA Modifieds will also be on the racing card. The regular weekly racing series starts on May 16. The Casey's General Stores Season Championship, set for August 29, will wrap up the weekly points battles.

The West Liberty Raceway will open the gates on Saturday, April 18 when the IMCA Summer Series makes its first stop of 2014. The following Saturday will see Modifieds take center stage with the Modified Extravaganza on tap. Both the IMCA Modifieds and the Northern Sport Mods will be racing for expanded purse money. The Season Championship is scheduled for August 30. The Ideal Ready Mix Liberty 100 will close out the action at West Liberty the weekend of October 3 and 4.

The Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway will see the 2014 season get underway with the Pioneer Rest Stop season opener on Sunday, May 18th. Season Championships sponsored by the Runde Auto Group will be held on Sunday August 31st featuring the Ideal Ready Mix Tri-Track Challenge.
