A Northeast Iowa man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for the alleged sexual assault of at least two young children.

Leroy Kula, Jr., 36, of Arlington, was given the sentence Monday in Iowa District Court, at the Fayette County Courthouse in West Union.

Kula was convicted of two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Kula was arrested on Oct. 31, 2014, following a week-long investigation into accusations that he had performed sex acts on at least two girls at his Arlington home.

Kula also allegedly recorded videos and took photos of at least two girls. The victims in question were four, five- and six-years-old.

The investigation by Fayette County Sheriff's officials has also led to more charges of sexual exploitation of a minor in Poweshiek County, plus additional charges in Fayette County.

Kula will be turned over to the Iowa Department of Corrections, where he will begin serving his 60-year sentence.
