A second person has now died in a one-vehicle accident in rural Butler County.
At about 7pm Thursday (Oct. 27), on County Road C-33, east of Clarksville, a pickup driven by 44 year old Matthew Dewitt of Shell Rock, drifted off the road and collided with a box culvert.

One of the passengers, 41 year old Jeffrey Dewitt of Shell Rock, was killed in the accident.

Now, according to the Iowa State Patrol, a second passenger, 28 year old Andrew Baker of Waverly, has also died.  He was being treated at the Waverly hospital.

The driver, Matthew Dewitt, is currently being treated at the Waverly Hospital.

The accident is still under investigation.
