Waterloo police have arrested one person in connection to one of two stabbings that happened about 12 hours apart.

The first incident happened around 11:30am Tuesday, in the area of West Third Street and Fletcher Avenue. 24 year old Armondo Adame III, sustained a stab wound in his back. He was taken by private vehicle to Covenant Hospital for treatment.

Adame told authorities that the stabbing occurred during a fight, and that he decided not to file charges.

The second incident happened just before midnight, when police and paramedics were called to a fight at an apartment on Sycamore Street. 22 year old Genesis Wilder was found outside with minor stab wounds to her thigh and arm; she was taken to Allen hospital for treatment.

In the second incident, 22 year old Mekaila Shane of Waterloo was arrested for willful injury causing bodily injury, and going armed with intent.
