2 Waterloo Men Charged, Separately, in Fayette County

BLACK HAWK COUNTY AUTHORITIES HAVE ARRESTED A WATERLOO MAN ON AN OUTSTANDING FAYETTE COUNTY ARREST WARRANT. OFFICERS TOOK 32 YEAR OLD ERIC THOMAS INTO CUSTODY TUESDAY, FOR A FAYETTE COUNTY WARRANT FOR A PAROLE VIOLATION. HE WAS HELD IN THE FAYETTE COUNTY JAIL WITHOUT BOND UNTIL HIS APPEARANCE BEFORE A MAGISTRATE.

A WATERLOO MAN, CONVICTED OF A SEX OFFENSE, NOW FACES CHARGES IN FAYETTE COUNTY, FOR NOT REGISTERING WITH THE STATE WHEN HE MOVED. ON SATURDAY, THE FAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF COMPLETED AN INVESTIGATION OF A SEX OFFENDER LIVING IN FAYETTE COUNTY, WHO FAILED TO REGISTER HIS LATEST LIVING ADDRESS. 64 YEAR OLD TIMOTHY CRANE WAS CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH STATE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS. AFTER AUTHORITIES ISSUED AN ARREST WARRANT, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT CRANE WAS ALREADY IN CUSTODY, IN THE BLACK HAWK COUNTY JAIL, ON OTHER CHARGES. THE FAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF THEN PUT A HOLD ON CRANE.

AND THE FAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF IS INVESTIGATING A ONE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT THAT HAPPENED LAST WEDNESDAY, ON NEON ROAD, NEAR OELWEIN. A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY 15 YEAR OLD KATELYN ALSTON OF INDEPENDENCE, WENT OUT OF CONTROL, AND ENTERED A DITCH. ALSTON WAS TREATED FOR MINOR INJURIES; SHE IS BEING CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL, AND NOT HAVING A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE. A PASSENGER, BRYCE HEPKER OF QUASQUETON, WAS ALSO CHARGED, WITH PERMITTING AN UNAUTHORIZED MINOR TO DRIVE. THE BUCHANAN COUNTY SHERIFF ASSISTED IN THE INVESTIGATION.
