A fire in rural Linn County has resulted in injuries to two firefighters and one of the residents.

Shortly after 8pm Tuesday, authorities were called to a residence in rural Central City. The blaze began in a camper that was situated next to a house. The fire then spread to the nearby house.

Duane and Catherine Kenley were home at the time, but were able to escape the house without being injured.

Two people were living in the camper: 35 year old Donavan Mabie-Bahr, and 23 year old Christina Lutze. Lutze got out ok, but Mabie-Bahr had to be taken to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids to be treated for smoke inhalation; he was then transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City. A condition report was not available.

An Alburnett firemen sustained a lower leg injury; he was taken to St. Luke's Hospital. And a Central City fireman was treated at the scene after he was bitten by a dog.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff and Central City Fire Department.
